Summer 2014 A Corsica Tour

In July-August 2014, a few months after buying the boat and making some little "do-it-yourself" works out of water, we launched Pytheas for a first sailing trip... A good opportunity to test the engine, the rigging, and the crew...

2015 - 2016  A Mediterranean Tour

After a more than convincing "Corsica Tour", we take the decision to make our dream come true, we are more and more determined to sail across the globe with Pytheas. We need only few months to turn the page on our previous terrestrial life, quitting our jobs, moving from our places and selling our few properties. New sails, sandblasting and re-painting of the hull for Pytheas. We cast off the moorings on 15th june 2015. For 9 months (june 2015 - march 2016) we are sailing along sardinian, sicilian, greek, turkish, maltese and tunisian coasts, discovering wonderful landscapes, warm people and a capricious and challenging sea. We made a break between march and september 2016 in France, to make some changes on the boat, to earn some money, moved by a desire still stronger to pursue the adventure in other latitudes...

2016 - 2020  A North Atlantic Tour

A new genoa furler, a windvane system, new bushings for the rudder, new windows more waterproof, new antifouling paint, and few works later, we are ready to cast off the moorings on 8th october 2016, and headed for Atlantic and Caribbean sea. After an atlantic crossing between Cape Verde and Barbados in january 2017, we spent almost 3 years in the Lesser Antilles, working in Guadeloupe during the touristic seasons, and travelling through the other islands during the hurricane seasons.

In november 2019, we headed for the Greater Antilles (Puerto Rico, Jamaïca, Cuba) then we started to sail up the East coast of the USA in february 2020.
Intracoastal waterway, Chesapeake bay, social distancing restrictions in Maryland, New York, Long Island Sound, are the milestones of our American trip. On 9th june, we left Newport and arrived to the Azores after a 18 days atlantic crossing. We will spent 2 months there and we will have a true "coup de coeur" for these islands. At the end of August 2020, we sail to the Brittany coasts in France where we want to make a few months stopover...

2021 - 2023  A South Atlantic Tour

Instead of a few months, we finally spent 1 year in France because of the sanitary global crisis. We took advantage of that extra time to visit our friends and families, to make a full check-up of the boat and to work and earn some money. In October 2021, we left Folleux (Morbihan) to sail to Portugal and then to the Canary Islands. We discovered then West Africa sailing to Sénégal and Gambia. In may 2022 we headed to Cabo Verde from where we crossed for the 3rd time Atlantic Ocean heading for Brazil, arriving in Salvador da Bahia first days of july. In october, we visited Uruguay then Argentina, reaching Ushuaïa in early december. Our friend Hervé joined us there and together we sailed across chilean patagonian canals for 2 months. In february 2023, we were in Puerto Montt, at the gateway to the Pacific!
